Once I heard a story regarding a teacher at the beginning of his school. He was asking students what they thought was needed to build a school. Students gave several answers, like making efforts, having aims, etc. The teacher listened to all of these answers, and at the end said, what is needed to build a school is reliability<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is reliability? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning of a school a teacher has to start everything from scratch. He is not even a teacher until he has gathered some students. He needs to count on these students because there is an enormous amount of work to do, both innerly and externally. Students need to be reliable. They need to perform the tasks the teacher asks them to do, both for their inner evolution and for the external building of the school. On the other hand, students rely in turn on their teacher for continuous and relentless guidance, direction, and encouragement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, students need to be able to rely on each other. Working together in a school creates a bond, a friendship. This bond helps students who are working on themselves and working for the school.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this work is a laborious work of patience and takes years. In time, the school grows and evolves. And the efforts that the students make in order to be reliable flower into an amazing ability of perseverance and endurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are but two roads that lead to an important goal and to the doing of great things: strength and perseverance. Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men. But austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us. It rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.\u201d – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who develop perseverance and endurance are cornerstones in the building of their school. Striving for many years, day by day, moment by moment, enduring incredible tests from higher forces. Persevering in their pursuit of being aware of the presence of their higher centers, making efforts to act from that plane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBe fearless and pure; never waver in your determination or your dedication to the spiritual life.\u201d – Bhagavad Gita<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perseverance and endurance are tools for the development of will<\/em>. Practicing these qualities develops the right mental attitude<\/em> that in time may lead to the development of will. One does not give up working on oneself or trying to be present whatever happens. One might temporarily fall, which happens often. It doesn\u2019t matter how many times you fall. Yet one must trust that higher forces will help and give one the strength to rise again. Understanding this is a necessary step to building will, which is fundamental to building a conscious school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, will is created by constancy and endurance in the effort to see life and act in life from the vantage point of presence, one\u2019s own third eye. Eventually, the aim is to become steadfast and humble, to be in unison with one\u2019s higher centers, and to sustain higher states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
